A new friend.
The workings of our new hand dug cistern. A water project to fight against the common droughts.
You think your job is hard?
Try digging a vertical 65 foot latrine with a shovel, working 18 hours a day 7 days a week in 90 degree weather for only a few meals of corn flower and beans a day!
In the image here the worker is down about 25 feet and still has 40 more to go. He has to climb up and down and fills a bucket which is brought up by the string one at a time. Often these holes cave in killing the workers. Maybe a candidate for the show "Dirty Jobs?"
